At our Agency, every unit and department is saddled with various functions to ensure smooth running of the Agency as we serve the public.Â
Highest Standard Libraries
Provides services as are usually provided by libraries of the highest standard in the world and serving as instrument for the improvement of reading for entire citizens of the state
Effective Lending
Renders effective lending and Reference services to both adults and children in the state
Library Services
Provides library services to the people of the state including the rural communities with the aid of the mobile library.
Establishment of Libraries
Encourages the establishment of libraries in the state and to make available the widest possible range of books and other records of human     intellectual work in Arts, Science and Technology
Library Consultancy
Offering free library consultancy services to members of the public who desire to establish libraries.
Library Maintenance
Be responsible for the control, maintenance, operation of all existing state and Local Government libraries including those in the ministries, parastatals and schools
Legal Depository
Serves as a legal Depository Library for all books and journals that are published in the state.
Library Extension
Organizes library extension activities from time to time such as public lectures, Debates, career talks, library day/week, Book fair etc to create     awareness among the citizenry in the state
Proficiency Training
Provides proficiency training in the rudiments of librarianship to library assistants, personnel assistants doing library related duties, I.T students      from higher institutions, Teacher-Librarians in schools, Local governments, ministries and private establishments
